Create a Morning Wellness Routine

The month of June has some of the longest daylight hours all year! The sun rises earlier and shines through our blinds, waking us up with a warm feeling of summer. Here are some wake up wellness tips to start you day on the right foot.

  • Meditation: waking up each morning could signal the start of another busy day. Instead of reaching for your phone and checking emails or social media, starting your day with a few deep breaths or a simple mediation, may help you feel more relaxed and present during the day. There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Try starting with a guided meditation through an app and start to realize that it only takes a few minutes to put our minds at ease before our workday begins.
  • Exercise: starting your day with some physical activity is a great way to get us ready for a productive day of work. Morning exercise routines energize our body and minds and help us stay more focused throughout the day. It’s also a great way to sneak in some fresh air and self-care time before the day begins!
  • Gratitude: take a few minutes each morning and jot down 3-5 things you are grateful for – no matter how big or small! Practicing gratitude can help prime your brain to look at things with a more positive perspective and feel more grateful for simple everyday occurrences.
  • Plan: creating a daily plan of things you need to accomplish can help you organize your thoughts to prevent feeling overwhelmed. Start by listing your daily tasks to get a better sense of things you need to accomplish. As you complete each task, cross them off your list to promote a sense of accomplishment, which will boost your feelings of productivity! You can also list weekly or monthly goals to help keep you on track.
  • Journal: similar to outlining your daily tasks, journaling is a great way to dump all of your thoughts onto paper. Use your journal however you want – doodle, recap your day, write down random thoughts, or create a list of positive and confidence boosting affirmations. This is a great way to clear your head and get your creativity flowing.

What our clients are saying

“Many, and I do mean many, thanks for a great Parents Weekend.  I heard from so many happy parents and you all work very hard to make it happen.  In gratitude and kindness…”

“What a difference a top chef makes to student satisfaction and enjoyment of campus life!  At a recent boarding school conference, food was mentioned as a key retention method and it is really true. The comforts of home are found in good food and meals enjoyed with friends. We couldn’t be more pleased with the healthy and delicious daily options presented by our chef and his team. Frank even has a suggestion box, so he is always open to new ideas and he even offers cooking classes for our students!”

“I wanted to take this moment to thank you and your staff for making the Athletic Celebration absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough great things about the event. The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. Thank you for your help from start to finish.”

“Even though we see challenges every day, each one of you rises to the occasion and makes it seem so easy. I cannot express how impressive it is to see you all work in such a fashion. You are true professionals.”

“I hope you do the food service in heaven.”

“What a night! You and your team rocked it and made us look like stars. Great working with you and know we will have more chances to work together on future events.”

“We are so thankful and so impressed by your immediate attention to our power outage. It was such a relief to see all the equipment and workers coming in within a few hours of the outage. Thank you for serving dinner to all [the] students in a very difficult circumstance. Please extend our thanks to your workers who braved cold weather to grill hamburgers and hotdogs.”

“Thank you for including me today in the food waste demonstration/[chef competition] and flattering me with the role of “judge.” I will proudly don the [Stop Food Waste Day] apron the next time I plan an “event” in our own kitchen. I think this is a very worthwhile cause and the statistics you read off are staggering. They, alone, can intimidate a home chef, let alone be the “driver’ for a professional one.”

“What a wonderful dinner we had tonight for our international families. The food was delicious and well presented as well.”

“The dinner I had tonight at Forman was not only the best meal I have had at Forman in the entire time I have been here, it was the best meal I can remember having anywhere in a long time. [It] was a restaurant quality meal, and it added to the enjoyment that the two young ladies serving me could not have been more charming. What an energizing way to finish a weekend eating a dinner like that.”
