Fun in the Sun
Did you know that fresh air and sunshine is good for your health? As summertime comes into full swing, it is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Some benefits of being outside include:
- Increased vitamin D. Sunshine causes the body to create Vitamin D which helps keep your bones and teeth strong, supports your immune system, brain and heart, and may even boost your mood! Vitamin D is found in some foods, but we get most of our Vitamin D from the sun.
- Better concentration. Studies show that taking a walking break outside could improve your focus.
- Reduced stress. Being out in nature has been shown to lower stress-causing hormones, and blood pressure and improve mood. This may be related to the free aromatherapy provided by trees and flowers.
