It’s Registered Dietitian Day!
Today is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Day! RDN day was created back in 2008 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is celebrated annually during National Nutrition Month. This day was created to increase the awareness of those who work in nutrition and food services and their commitment to helping people to lead happy and healthy lives.
Do you know the difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist? Every RD is a nutritionist, but not every nutritionist is an RD! The term nutritionist isn’t regulated, so anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without any formal training, license, or certification.
But in order to become an RD there is a lot of school and training involved, which includes: a 4-year bachelors or master’s degree in dietetics from an accredited university program, completion of a dietetic internship with 1,200 hours of supervised practice in various settings, passing the required national examination, and completing ongoing continuing education.
We are so thankful for our amazing team of CulinArt registered dietitians and for all their hard work!
How are you celebrating all of the incredible Registered Dietitians today??
